This was my entry to the Best of the Boat magazine cover for 2019. This piece represents all of the different gears that happen through out the year in Steamboat Springs.  From the beautiful changing of the aspen tree leaves to the love of bluegrass and reggae.  You never know when a moose maybe just around the corner, or when you are going to hit that jump on your snowboard that makes you defy gravity.  It's things like these that make this town magical.  But when you want to get out of town, then it can be just a short thirty minute drive to the peace and tranquility of a camp spot, where you just happen to catch an amazingly beautiful rainbow trout.  After the time away, and you head back into town, you just may see a little bit of magic over the mountain of a hot air balloon in the sky.  All of these things happen through out the year in our little valley of Colorado, but there is still a sense of community of going to our local school games to root on the Steamboat Springs Sailors.  From the love of biking during the summer to skiing or snowboarding during the winter, these are the gears that keep us moving.
