Hello and thank you for taking the time to read about myself and my work. I’ll start by introducing myself. My name is Kaytee Hoffmann and I absolutely love art! I love creating because life is your’s to create! I mostly use acrylic paint and posca paint pens for my work, but I do also enjoy using watercolor as well, but I would say that my heart and soul is in the acrylics.

I enjoy painting colorful, whimsical paintings, things that are inspired by our dreams and the faery world around us. I am also inspired by mandalas and how they can represent the patterns of nature that is the building blocks to our very existence. The mandala is also a form of meditative art, just focusing on one line, repeating in different ways to create a beautiful, intricate pattern, a pattern of life. I mold these inspirations together to create what I like to call my “Faery Dream Worlds.” A world that is full of magic and wonder, where creatures can live in abundance and harmony together, a world that seems much different than ours, but with a little belief and a little magic, we can make it a reality. The mandalas are vessels, portals, activators into the Faery Dream World that is active on a different plane of existence.

Art has been a passion of mine as long as I can remember. I loved doing arts and crafts with my mom when I was growing up. As I got older and went to high school, art was the only class that I liked and filled my senior year of high school with five different art classes. (That was the max I could take and still get the other credits needed to graduate otherwise I would have taken more!) That is about as far as my formal “art training” has gotten, so I feel that I am mostly a self-taught artist, which I feel has really allowed me to be experimental with my art and to try different forms and techniques, while not being put in a box of the “right” way and the “wrong” way to do art. After all, I am a firm believer that there really is no “wrong” way to do art, it is your expression of yourself and where you are in that point of your life. Of course, there is always growing and bettering your skills, but like all skills, that comes from doing what you love, and for me, what I love is, of course, art.
